A PROJECT to build a dipping platform at Grappenhall Wood received a £500 boost from members of Cheshire's Women's Institute.
The group donated the cash to the Woodland Trust after applying for a bursary from Taylors Tea, awarded nationally for community projects.
The British Trust for Conservation Volunteers is to build the platform, which is to be used by schools in the area for educational studies, such as investigating pond life.
Colin Riley, of the Woodland Trust, said: "The support of the WI has been fantastic and has enabled some very important work to be carried out.
"As Grappenhall is a relatively new site, we have been keen to enlist the support of local groups and we hope that the support of organisations like the WI and the BTCV will continue for many years to come."
