Plans are well underway for this year's Southport Jazz Festival as tourism officers reveal the names of some of the headline performers.

Soul greats Snake Davis and Heather Small, the voice of M-People, are among the top names now confirmed for Southport's third jazz festival.

Last year's festival attracted hundreds of players and thousands of fans from all over the world. And this year's event from June 18-21 promises to be even bigger.

Organisers have been inundated with requests from UK and international based artists wishing to take part and just under 90 concerts have now been programmed.

Ranging from traditional to big band, be-bop to salsa, funk to contemporary, swing to blues, Southport Jazz Festival has it all. Venues range from the Southport Theatre and Floral Hall complex and Southport Arts Centre to hotels, pubs, caf bars, bandstands, restaurants and even shopping arcades.

Heather Small, described as the most powerful and distinctive voice to emerge in the British Isles in the last decade, joins Snake Davis, the man for passionate soul saxophone, for a concert at Southport Theatre and Floral Hall complex on June 21 and we've got our hands on two pairs of tickets for the event.

To claim yours simply tell us which famous RL player did Heather enjoy a romance with in the 90s?
