AUSTRALIAN professional Brad Roach spearheaded Golborne Cricket Club's impressive performance against Lostock on Saturday.

He hit 16 fours and six sixes before falling on 125 runs to a splendid catch by Flanagan.

Barry Greenwood, 50 not out, also excelled with the bat as Golborne posted an imposing total of 247 runs for the loss of six wickets.

Lostock looked hesitant in reply. Only Shah, 37, attacked Golborne's bowlers with any real purpose but the visitors somehow managed to secure a draw.

Roberts, who took three wickets for seven runs, was Golborne's main man with the ball as Lostock finished on 135-9.

Lostock Seconds also showed stubborn resistance in their match against Golborne's second string.

They defended their total of 135-7 as though their lives depended on it but Golborne recorded a narrow victory thanks largely to the batting heroics of Steve Dando, 53, John Brunt, 23 and Andrew Makinson, who hit the winning four runs with a quality cover drive after the loss of two quick wickets had caused a stir.

Golborne's best bowlers were McMillan, Dave Kelly and Denis Ormshaw. They each took two wickets while Ormshaw would have had a hat-trick had it not been for a dropped catch.

Golborne's under 15s side secured their second victory of the season, beating their opponents Daisy Hill by 12 runs.

They were indebted to a dazzling bowling performance by Partridge. He took 4-16 in his allotted four overs while Hart and Carr also took wickets.

Golborne's bowlers were backed up by excellent fielding. Wicket keeper Lyon also made a telling contribution, as did batsman Whittaker.

He retired on 38 as Golborne amassed a total of 103-5 in their 20 overs. Good support came from Carr, 16, Clayton, 13, Lyon, 6 and R. Foster, 6.
