A WOMAN, who claims she is the target for constant abuse from young louts, is desperate to move house.
Former psychiatric nurse, Vera Carney (55) from Mount Pleasant Avenue says that she is now a recluse, confined to one room in her home because of her perpetual torment.
She claims children as young as seven pepper her front window with objects such as eggs and flour, and shout threats through her letterbox. Ms Carney, who is diabetic, said that the youths told her that her house was haunted and got into her kitchen to put a pan on the oven.
"The minute I moved in it started. It's been going on for two years. I've now lost hope with the police and council," she added.
Helena Housing said of the case: "The lady has requested a transfer of property to Moore Avenue, which is situated at the back of Mount Pleasant Avenue. Ms Carney does not have any allocation points as she is not considered to be in housing need, which is the basis of our allocations policy. Ms Carney has not formally made any complaints related to neighbour nuisance therefore cannot be moved on that basis."
