NANTWICH Town boss Nigel Gleghorn has warned his players this season isn't over with their futures at stake.

Although promotion hopes are over, the player manager wants 100% from his side over the last few games to prove they can be part of an anticipated title-push, next term.

Gleghorn was disappointed with his charges in last Saturday's 3-2 defeat at high-flying Fleetwood Town.

He cancelled out Catlow's opener within 60 seconds on 7 minutes with Mark Gardiner doing the same with a 39th minute spot kick to make it 2-2.

McDonnell grabbed the winner in first-half stoppage time despite furious protests for a foul on Dabbers keeper Stuart Heaps.

"It was a poor game," explained Gleghorn.

"They're not a good footballing side and they've got one big frontman but it was a lacklustre performance from us.

"Still their winner came when Heaps was fouled.

"We didn't deserve it but at the end of the day that decision has cost us a point."

Gleghorn says the last few games remain vital.

"I'm a bit disappointed with some of the attitudes," he added.

"The season isn't over by far.

"We've got two derby games coming up and I'm looking to see which players want to stay here next season.

"We can't get promotion now so next season becomes very important to this club.

"We're looking to play some of our younger players like Ritchie Puller and I've got some targets in mind to try and bring here.

"The main part of this squad is capable of challenging.

"Experienced players cost money and only two players out of this league have gone on to the Football League this year and one is from Nantwich.

"Do you stop bringing young players through which makes Nantwich an attractive club to come to?

"It's a question of getting the balance right. Still if I could have got my full side out this season, we would have been a match for most teams."

Nantwich return to action on Saturday week in a home derby against Congleton Town.

l Nantwich picked up a solid point at in-form Warrington Town on Tuesday night. Heverin put the home side in front on 48 minutes but Canes saved the Dabbers, six minutes from time.
