Teale is yet to be told by the Vics board if he will be at the helm for the club's first season outside the Nationwide Conference, but he is still weighing up his options in terms of his playing staff.

Speaking to the Northwich Guardian he said: "We have six contracted players already for next season and there's four or five that we have an option on, but whether we keep them or not is something that will have to be looked at.

"There are two or three of those that I think the club should keep, then it's a case of clearing the decks of the rest and starting again."

And this means looking in both the Conference and the UniBond league for new blood.

He added: "In the main I will be looking at Conference players because if we're going to give it a go, and there's nothing to say we can't be in the top three next year, we've got to have Conference quality players.

"Of course we will have UniBond players as well because of the wage structure the club will have next season.

"But if I do get the job then I know the UniBond league well and I know a lot of players who are good enough to come in and strengthen the squad."
