Runcorn Apec Taxis Darts League

LAST Thursday night the second round of the Individual competition took place at four venues with the remaining 32 players competing for the last four places.

Albion's John Kilkenny ran out the winner at the RNA Club when he beat reigning summer league champion Steve Roberts (Tricorn) in the final game by 2/0.

On his way John hit a maximum as well as recording an 18-dart game, with Steve also finishing in 18 darts.

The highest finish at this venue of 111 came from Outcasts Chris Jones.

At the Old Transporter Navvy's Mark Barlow ran out the winner after he beat former champion Nigel Peterson 2/1 in the final game.

Mark produced a 16-dart game whilst Nigel recorded a 17 darter.

Also at this venue Barry O'Connor had an 18-dart game, which included a 110 finish.

Winning through at the Grapes was Albion's Paul Melia who beat Steve Allan 2/1 in the final game.

Paul recorded games of 15 and 18 darts whilst Steve hit two maximums.

Another maximum at this venue came from Albion's Eamonn Hartigan who also recorded a 17-dart game.

Playing at War Memorial Club, Ian White (Wilsons) made his way to the final via a 2/0 win against Tricorn's Gary Roberts.

Ian produced games of 16, 18 and 19 darts on the night whilst Draymen's Peter Oulton had two legs each of 18 darts.

These four winners will now compete at the War Memorial Club on Friday, May 14 along with the final of the Town Championship on the league's presentation night.

Thursday night sees the second round of both the Town Championship and Executive Competitions will be staged and the draw for the semi finals of both competitions will take place on Sunday at approximately 12.30pm.

Tomorrow night the second round of the Doubles Competition will take place with the remaining 16 pairs competing for the last four places.

Next Thursday night, April 22, sees the first of the league's six finals nights for the 2003/04-winter league at the RNA Club.

The evening will consist of the final of the Apec Taxis KO Cup between old rivals Albion and Navvy and the section four final of the Committee Challenge Cup between Navvy Lads and Dev Superstars.

Play will commence at 8pm with the order of play being decided on the night.

This will be followed next Friday night at the RNA Club with the final of the Chairman's Challenge Cup between Navvy and Wilsons and the section three final of the Committee Challenge Cup between Royal Oak and Grapes. Play starts at 8pm
