RECENTLY I have read in various local papers, letters commenting on the council's recycling efforts i.e. cans, bottles and paper etc. I would like to say I am all for recycling as are lots of others.

Other people say it's a waste of time, we all have our opinion. So much in favour am I that I purchased a stainless steel container to put cans and metal in, keeping it away from the plastic bin which I use for glass bottles and jars.

Recently the recycling team decided to relieve me of my new container and just took it cans and all.

Despite multiple phone calls by me to the council and three letters all ignored I cannot get my container returned. I thought the recycling team were only allowed to remove cans, bottles and paper from our homes and not our belongings.

I will pursue the council in court for the cost of my container but I am less in favour of recycling than I was.
