Folly Lane 22

Bank Quay Bulls 14

BANK Quay Bulls' outstanding two-year record of no league defeats came to an end the week after being crowned champions of North West Counties Amateur Rugby League Division Two.

Bulls' 41-game unbeaten league run ended against a Folly Lane side looking to clinch the second promotion place.

Two tries and a conversion in the first 10 minutes gave Folly Lane the perfect start.

A kick from Damon Fishwick was well taken by Ste Caley who touched down for a try and Fishwick adding the extra points.

An unforced error by Bulls gifted Folly Lane possession deep in the Bulls half and the home side took full advantage with a converted try.

It was again Caley who got the Bulls back in the game when he easily rounded his opposite number to score his second try of the game.

Folly Lane added a converted try to leave Bulls trailing at half-time 22-10.

Bank Quay dominated the second half but could only add one further try by Adam Whalin. Best for Bulls were Craig Millington, Damon Fishwick and Alan Clare.

On Saturday Bank Quay entertain Shaw Rhinos at Longshaw Street, kick-off 2.30pm.
