A MAKESHIFT Rylands amateur Rugby League side held North West Counties Division Six champions and Rose Bowl finalists Bold Miners for 70 minutes before tiring in the last 10 minutes and losing 30-23.
Rylands A, who had seven under 18s players on show, led 19-18 at the 70 minutes mark thanks to tries from Andy Simpson, Christian Froggart and Mike Lee, plus seven points coming from the boot of Leonard but the Bold pack gradually wore down the stout Rylands defence and scored two converted tries in the last 10 minutes.
Rylands had the final word when Anthony Reilly scored in the last minute to underline the 80 minutes commitment given by all the players.
Best for Rylands A were Reilly, Walker, Berry, and Mike Lee.
