EVER wondered what life is like inside Warrington Borough Council?

Well, a new ITV documentary will lift the lid on life in a number of council departments, from pest control to dog wardens and food standards to funeral services.

Filming is already under way for the series, which is due to be screened from September, and Warrington beat off stiff competition from other local authorities to be featured.

One of the members of staff set to be involved is Sean Kelly, from Orford, who works at Walton Lea crematorium.

The 36-year-old says he hopes that the staff will be able to show themselves in a good light.

He added: "I am sure that they will be looking for one or two anecdotes and some amusing stories as well.

"But hopefully we will be able to have some say over what goes in and be able to show crematorium staff in a good light with all the good work that we do."

A council spokesman said Warrington was chosen to host the documentary because of all the positive work that is done.

He added: "We have interesting staff and lots going on."

The programme is being made by Granada Television, but has not been given a name yet.

A spokesman for the television company did not want to comment.
