POLICE have extended for an extra three months the bail of Iftikhar and Farzana Ahmed - the parents of murdered teenager Shafilea Ahmed - who are still arrested on suspicion of kidnapping their daughter.
Today, Monday, a spokesman for Cheshire Police confirmed that the bail of Mr and Mrs Ahmed was being renewed until July 19.
Detectives are still investigating the 17-year-old's murder, after her badly decomposed body was pulled from the River Kent in Cumbria.
It is believed that Shafilea deliberately drank bleach, severely damaging her throat, in an apparent protest against an arranged marriage.
Two weeks ago, more than 150 mourners from the town's Muslim community attended the teenager's funeral.
