A GRIEVING grandmother is desperately appealing for the return of treasured family possessions that were in the back of her car which was stolen last Monday.
A little more than a year ago Brenda Astley's family faced unimaginable grief after three family members died in truly tragic circumstances.
Her four-year-old granddaughter Rhiannon Astley died suddenly last year, a week before a house fire claimed the life of Brenda's mum Alice Pearson, 85, and her daughter, 24-year-old Jessica.
The untaxed pale blue F registered Vauxhall Carlton was taken from Billington Avenue in Newton on Monday afternoon.
"I am not bothered about the car - I was going to get rid of it anyway, but the contents were precious.
"There was some of my mum's clothing, a rose bowl and other bits and pieces."
She pleaded with those responsible to return the items, even if it meant throwing them over her garden wall.
