Haydock A 30 Leigh Miners Rangers A 28 HAYDOCK seconds finished the league programme with a hard-fought win in a game that was in the balance right to the final whistle.
Having given the visitors a start, Haydock had to play catch-up rugby and tries by Kev Roberts and two by Carl Cheetham, with Matty Cunliffe adding two conversions, got them back in the game.
The second half was end-to-end stuff with both teams playing open, attacking rugby.
Haydock clinched victory with tries by N. Wade and N. Tinsley, with Cunliffe adding two penalties and a conversion.
M. Charnock took the man of the match for Haydock with C. Cheetham, S. List, K. Dugdale, A. Fenney and I. Cummings all worthy of mention.
