ORIGINAL 80s goths All About Eve make their return to Limelight, next Sunday.

Formed in 1985 by erstwhile rock journalist and Gene Loves Jezebel bass player Julianne Regan, she still fronts the band today as they embark on a national UK tour.

Encouraged by then rising stars The Mission, All About Eve developed a solid following.

And with a backdrop of hippie mysticism and imagery, along with Regan's predilection for white-witchcraft and Tarot cards, they provided a taste of the exotic with a heady mixture of goth rock and 70s folk.

Their first, self-titled album earned rave reviews with stunning tracks such as Every Angel, In The Meadow and Shelter From The Rain in '97.

Also spawning their biggest selling top ten single Martha's Harbour, next album Scarlet And Other Stories confirmed their aspirations to be among the front-runners in UK rock.

Wrangling hampered those ambitions and saw guitarist Tim Bricheno depart. Album Touched By Jesus followed and only managed a short stay in the UK Top 20 before the band split with their label.

Going separate ways, Regan reunited with Marty Wilson Piper and Andy Cousin as a 'best of' was released in '99, followed by a successful acoustic tour in 2000 that featured on Fairy Light Nights.

Regan is still going strong, playing those classic songs from the mid '80s right through to their latest material.

Live at 9.30pm, tickets are £12.
