POLICE and fire chiefs have launched a joint investigation after a huge fire at Morrisons supermarket in Winsford yesterday, Tuesday.
More than 60 firefighters tackled the warehouse blaze on the Nat Lane Retail Park, described by fire chiefs as a 'raging inferno'.
Police closed roads around the scene and considered evacuating nearby residents when the severity of the blaze became apparent.
Morrisons remained shut yesterday and it was unclear when the store would reopen.
A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing arson and was being held in custody as the Guardian went to press.
