MUSIC mad Wesley Harding, 20, is hoping to launch a record breaking community project.

He wants to set up a sound studio and record label to give talented musicians a chance to make their own records.

"I'll be able to show people how to use the equipment and then they can make their own music," said Wesley, of Brookvale, Runcorn, who presented late night shows on Halton FM.

He has asked Arena Housing for a grant and plans to apply to various other organisations for match funding.

A spokeswoman for Arena Housing, said: "Arena Housing is very keen to support community initiatives. Wesley has applied to our residents' forum. We are waiting for more details of his business plan before a decision is made."

Charitable housing association Arena manages properties in Brookvale and Halton Brook.

Wesley is now looking for suitable premises and is keen to hear from local musicians interested in his venture.

"I want to help singers, bands, rappers and DJ's with all types of music," said Wesley, who gained a BTEC diploma in music technology at Halton College.

"Even if they don't give me any money, I'm determined to do it. I've got lots of ideas. Everyone likes music."
