CREWE ABC'S Sean Done made an explosive debut with two stoppage wins in little over a week.

It's been some start to the young middleweight's competitive career as he dominated bouts in Shrewsbury and Hanley, this month.

At 5ft 7ins, Done looked to be in for a tough first outing for Joey Singleton's stable, facing 6ft 3ins Gerry Morgan from Staffordshire's Hobbs Moat Club.

But the height disadvantage didn't bother him as he went on the attack from the first bell, pinning Morgan to the ropes with sharp two handed attacks to the body and head.

It took just 30 seconds for the ref to have a close look and after the bout resumed, so did Done with the towel thrown in after just one minute.

Similar skills were on show in Stoke as Done made it 2-0 against Allan Booth.

The Crewe lad dominated from the opening bell, forcing the pace all the way with Booth under so much pressure that the ref stopped the contest with a minute to go in the third and final round.

Back to Shrewsbury, and light-middleweight Billy Boreham also defied height and weight disadvantages to comprehensively outbox Aberystwyth's John Sheringham.

Boreham had the 6ft 4ins fighter on the back foot straight away with some excellent three and four punch combinations.

Asserting his dominance, Sheringham was rocking by the third as Boreham wrapped up a unanimous decision.

"His overall performance was awesome to watch," said trainer Joey Singleton.

Lightweight Tommy Stokes completed the night for Crewe, losing after a gutsy performance against M Ikhlaq.

A slow start cost the Crewe boxer with the talented Birmingham prospect utilising his skills well to take the first two rounds.

Stokes gave it his all in the third with some terrific close quarter exchanges earning him the round but Ikhlaq had done enough for victory.

Welterweight Ian Clyde impressed in Shrewsbury despite losing a close decision to Manchester's John Prescott.

The Arrow ABC's fighter dictated the pace in the first, forcing Clyde to use his boxing skills to stay out of trouble before mounting attacks on his own in the second.

By the third, Clyde looked on top and a strong finish took the round but Prescott still picked up the decision.

"This was one of his better performances in a long time since moving up to welterweight and gives us both something to work on," said Singleton

Young Phil Cliff also gave a good account, losing to Orme ABC's Leslie Eachi.

Tall and rangy, Eachi turned on the style in the first but Cliff rallied and convinced in the last, requesting a rematch after losing the decision.

Crewe ABC, run by Joey Singleton and Lee Murray are looking for volunteers to help out

"We're looking for any volunteers who can spare some time to keep their eye on the youngsters or to help out on the pads with the seniors," explained Joey.

"This could be an ideal opportunity for students on sports science courses to obtain some experience.

"Any help would be greatly appreciated."
