I WAS very disappointed when I read an article in the Warrington Guardian about the cancellation of this year's Penketh Fun Run.
I have been waiting for this popular event for many weeks now and then to my surprise it was cancelled. I have been participating in this social fun run for three years and find it very enjoyable. It is a very good community event for people of any age in our town to get together to enjoy and socialise every year. Two years ago I entered the competition with my dad and also got a picture in your newspaper. Each year I have happily received a medal for completing the run and I would like to carry that on for many years. I hope this year will be no exception.
Maybe our parish council could give a helping hand with the cost of policing this important event.
