A TALENTED 10-year-old is aiming to become the next Will Young after scooping first prize in a holiday pop competition.
Potential pop idol David Edgar of Palacefields, Runcorn wowed judges and with his rendition of Light My Fire and Leave Right Now while at a North Yorkshire holiday park.
His proud Mum, Christine, said: "He has shocked us all by winning but we are very proud of him.
"He was up against nine other children but he stood out because the judges loved his distinctive voice.
"He has been invited back after the summer for more finals and we are all going along to cheer him on."
David, who goes to Brookvale Primary School, has always enjoyed singing but his interest took off after watching the contestants in Pop Idol and Fame Academy take to the stage.
