LYMM Rugby Football Club's junior sides gave a good account of themselves in the Wilmslow Festival.

Their under eights team were beaten finalists and their under 11s and under nines sides reached the semi-finals stage.

Lymm under eights scored 18 tries in the tournament. They suffered a narrow defeat to Tarleton after beating teams from Wilmslow, Trafford and Widnes.

The under 11s recorded three straight wins to finish top of their group before losing to Irish touring side Greystones in a repeat of last year's final.

And the under nines lost 3-2 to eventual winners West Park after defeating Ormskirk and Leigh.

They tackled well, showed outstanding commitment and scored tries via James Mitchell, Joe Krawiecki and Chris Hunt.
