ACCORDING to A Watts, April 28, Runcorn New Town got a few shops and a cinema - and that's not redevelopment?

Didn't he forget more than £100m of public money that is now committed to going into Castlefields and the surrounding area for its regeneration?

Counting the likely adult population of Castlefields and Windmill Hill together (about 6,500) that's more than £3,000 per head being spent on just that part of Runcorn!

That's the equivalent of buying every home a brand new car.

He also seems to have forgotten the millions spent in Government schemes like SRB over the last how many years in the same area.

As for the Runcorn Old Town, I understood they have had more than £12m of public money spent on them - a new road, arts centre and college campus to name a few.

Trying to portray that, as a couple of bollards and railings on the waterfront, really is a joke.

Do people like Mr Watts really think people don't read reports in the newspapers or look at the council's website? Get a life, eh!
