A 17-year-old girl from Byley died at the weekend after she was involved in a collision with a car in Holmes Chapel.
The incident happened at around midnight on Saturday, May 1, on the A50 Knutsford Road.
A 23-year-old woman from Goostrey was driving a grey Renault Clio saloon car in the direction of Cranage when it was in a collision with the 17-year-old who was crossing the road.
The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was taken to Leighton Hospital but later died.
The driver of the Clio was shaken but not injured.
The incident is being investigated by the Winsford road policing unit and police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call 01244 612599.
