THE War Memorial Club was the venue last week for two more cup finals.

The first, the Todger Jones VC cup, featured Albion against section four's Navvy Lads.

Albion won the opening game through Nigel Peterson and Phil Littler and then made it 2-0 with a win from Colin Rigby and Neil Dunbebin.

Navvy Lads pulled one back through Mark Dowling and Alan Robinson but wins from Roy Chiocchi and Ron Fisher and then Eamonn Hartigan and John Kilkenny resulted in Albion regaining the cup 4/1.

The Committee Challenge cup featured RNA and Red Admiral and it was the latter who took an early lead with a win from Stephen Smith.

RNA won the next two games through Anthony Ward and Billy Randles, the latter hitting a maximum.

The first of the three doubles games saw the scores levelled through Stephen Smith and Dave Ocego but the remaining two doubles games went in favour of RNA through Cliff McFarland and George Hamling and then Billy Randles and Stephen Jackson.

In a tense deciding leg it was RNA anchorman George Hamling produced a 117 finish to secure victory for his team.

Man of the match awards went to Nigel Peterson and Phil Littler (Albion) and Billy Randles (RNA).

The latter also received an award for hitting the only maximum of the night.

Tricorn competed in two finals and won both.

First up was the final of the Best Sports cup against section two champions Tranny Lads.

The first two games went in favour of Tranny Lads with wins from Andy McCulloch and Tom Humphries before Brian McNamara opened Tricorn's account.

Mark Johnston then restored Tranny Lads' two game advantage only to see Gary Roberts reduce the score to 3/2.

Steve Allan then hit a 14 dart round the board game to put Tranny Lads into a 4/2 lead but in a very close match Rob Law, Steve Roberts and anchorman John Hillan won for Tricorn to earn a 5/4 victory.

They then faced Halfway A in the section one final of the Committee Challenge cup.

Tricorn won the opener through Peter Revill with Halfway A's Jim Reynolds squaring the match.

Brian McNamara restored Tricorn's lead and his team went further ahead, winning the first of the doubles games through Brian McNamara and Paul Lawrenson.

The remaining two doubles games were shared with Neil Connor and Jim Reynolds winning for Halfway A and Steve and Gary Roberts winning for Tricorn.

A 15 dart game from Halfway A's Barry O'Connor in the first of the three remaining singles games reduced Tricorn's lead to 4/3 but wins from Tricorn's Gary Roberts and John Hillan made the final score 6/3.

Man of the match awards went to Steve Allan (Tranny Lads) and Barry O'Connor (Halfway A).
