IT'S the start of the biennial love affair with all things England.

Beckham, Rooney, Owen and Campbell will be all we talk about for the next four weeks.

The 2004 European Championships kick off in Portugal on Saturday when the hosts take on Greece, so expect wall to wall coverage from the Beeb and ITV for the next month.

Heaven.

Unless that is you are a soap fan and will be trying to get your head round why Coronation Street is starting at 10pm or why Neighbours is on BBC2.

If you want to follow the action, the opening game is on BBC1 on Saturday teatime but ITV get the big one, England v France on Sunday with a 7.45pm kick off.

Matches carry on right through June until the final in Lisbon on July 4, when both channels will show the match - but everyone will be watching Everton legend Gary Lineker and the BBC.
