WARRINGTON Wolves' young Great Britain forward Paul Wood will not be facing charges of biting an opponent in Sunday's game at Widnes.

Wood was placed on report by referee Bob Connolly in Wolves' 31-10 defeat but after Rugby Football League executives studied video evidence it was found he had no case to answer.

Widnes' Australian hooker Shane Millard alleged Wood had bitten him in the 19th minute and could be seen on the field pointing out a mark on his arm to the referee.

Widnes' Australian stand off Jules O'Neill was also placed on report during the game for an alleged high tackle that floored Wolves full back Daryl Cardiss in only the third minute of the match.

Again, O'Neill will not be ordered to appear before a disciplinary hearing this week as his challenge was deemed to be legal on video replays.

Cardiss had fielded an O'Neill kick but evaded the two chasers and was getting set to charge into an open field when O'Neill cut him down.

The match itself was dour with a lacklustre Wolves performance making Widnes look better than what they are.

Warrington's solitary try was scored by Mike Forshaw while Widnes' efforts came from Adam Hughes, which was an interception off Lee Briers, Nicky Royle, Shane Millard, Andy Hay and finally Hughes again.

Wolves' next match is against London Broncos at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Saturday, kick-off 4pm.

The day and time has been changed from the original fixtures for Sky television purposes.
