WARRINGTON Woolston Rovers stretched their unbeaten start to the season to six games with a convincing 48-7 win at Carlisle Centurions.

The result leaves Rovers as the only team in the LHF Healthplan National League Three with a 100 per cent record.

Rovers opened the scoring in the second minute with a penalty goal from Mark Roughneen.

The home side hit back 10 minutes later when Richard Nicholson touched down in the corner.

Callum Irving converted and added a drop goal soon afterwards to give Carlisle a 7-2 advantage.

Rovers then moved up a few gears and they were able to nil their opponents for the remainder of the game.

James Brabin, Iain Fowler and Craig Harris sparkled for Rovers but the man of the match was undoubtedly captain for the day Jamie Clarke.

He scored a stunning hat-trick and the other try scorers in Rovers' dazzling away day display were Fowler, Roughneen, Paul Berry and Matt Taylor.

Roughneen added six conversions and three penalties to take his goals tally for the game to 10.

Rovers entertain Gateshead Storm at Wilderspool Stadium on Sunday, kick-off 2.30pm.
