GRANGE Cricket Club's teams failed to gain a win between them for the first time this year.
The first team fell to a surprise defeat at Cheshire Alliance Division Three strugglers Port Sunlight while the second team were forced to settle for a winning draw against the same club on Saturday.
Grange Seconds' four-match undefeated run fell on Sunday with a loss in the Cheshire Alliance Cup away to first division opposition Sandbach.
An under strength Grange Sunday side were knocked off the top of the West Lancashire Sunday League after a heavy defeat against champions Hindley St Peters.
Although missing a couple of key players, the first team had high hopes of maintaining their unbeaten start to the campaign at Port Sunlight but a dreadful performance with the bat left them with too much to do.
Grange folded to 87 all out but accurate and aggressive bowling from the Grange attack left the Sunlight innings in tatters at 41 runs for eight wickets.
But they rallied to score the runs for the loss of one more wicket.
This weekend the first team travel to Mossley. Back at Grange Avenue, the seconds entertain neighbours Glazebury while on Sunday Grange make their first trip to Liverpool Nalgo in the West Lancashire League.
