A SUPERB performance by Jimmy Warham gave Appleton Cricket Club a winning draw against Hartford.
He made 62 runs with the bat and took five wickets for 25 runs with the ball.
Mike Arnold also made a key contribution. He hit a quality 55 to get Appleton back on track after they had scored only nine runs for their first three wickets.
Appleton went on to make 173 and Warham's heroics ensured that Hartford's innings ended on 159-8.
Appleton Seconds recorded a fine 37-run win against Hartford's second string thanks to a devastating bowling performance by Simon Thomas.
Mike Ormson also excelled with the ball while Darbyshire hit a dogged 25 with the bat.
Appleton Thirds enjoyed a 14-run success against Glazebury Seconds.
A fine 61 from Matt Swannell laid the foundations before Matt Lavell produced a fine spell of bowling to wrap up Appleton's win.
