AN exceptional number of victories were achieved by Warrington Athletics Club's aces in the National Young Athletes League match at Deeside.

Cassie Irving produced the top performance in the under 13s girls 70 metres hurdles, which she won with a grade one time and this earned her the female of the match award.

She also won the 800m and the high jump in grade one performances.

Cassie had strong support from Bethany Hicken, who enjoyed victories in the 75m and 150m and Louise Sullivan in the 1200m.

In the under 15s events successes were recorded by Heather Timmins in the 800m, Lucy Gemmell in the 1500m, Lucy Stockton in the long jump and Vicky Nicholson in the 75m hurdles.

The attendance in the under 17s age groups was affected by exams but there were still victories from Louise Woodward in the 100m, 80m hurdles and long jump and Heather Roberts in the high jump.

For the boys, under 13s victories were produced by Mike Stewart in the 200m, 800m and long jump plus Matt Ainsworth in the 1500m A.

At under 15s level victories came from Tom Sephton in the 100m and 200m, Adam Green in the 400m, Lawrence Walker in the 800m, Danny Cliffe in the 3000m, Jonathon Kindon in the high jump, Scott McEwan in the long jump and Oliver Jones in the shot, discus and javelin A.

Sean Myers and Mike Timmins were the only under 17s winners, taking the 800m and 3000m races.
