A BUNGLED burglary in Bewsey has left the landlady of a Lovely Lane house foaming mad.

On Saturday, at around 11.30pm, burglars entered a house owned by landlady Rita Taylor by smashing a window and stole a quantity of alcohol.

However, not content with burgling the house, they then let off a fire extinguisher and fire blanket - covering the kitchen in chemical foam and dust.

They fled when the house alarm went off. Police attended the scene.

Mrs Taylor said: "It's not very nice because it took me ages to clean it up and it's choking stuff."

But she said the burglars, whom she believes are teenagers, would have got the 'fright of their lives' from the extinguisher.

She is now appealing for people who think they might have seen anybody covered in white foam or dust on Saturday to go to the police. Anyone with information should contact 0800 555 111.
