AN 18-year-old man was smashed over the head with a bottle and stamped on during a brawl in Lymm on Friday.
The victim was part of a mixed group of about 15 youths that were approached by another gang, of about the same size, outside The Wine Cellar, at The Cross.
At around 11.45pm, some members of the second group jumped on the victim, hitting him over the head with a bottle and then stamping on him while he was on the ground.
The man was taken to Warrington Hospital.
He did not sustain major injuries but could not remember exactly what had happened to him.
Police questioned 20 youths in the area but none of them had seen anything.
Investigators are now examining CCTV footage.
