Mr Albert Cartledge, husband of Mrs Joan Cartledge, died of bronchopneumonia on April 28, aged 81.
Mr Cartledge lived in Lymm all his life. He was employed as a warehouse manager at Bass at Preston Brook, and served in the Army as a sergeant major in the Second World War.
For several years Mr Cartledge was an active member of the Royal British Legion, Lymm branch, and the Eighth Army Veterans' Association, Warrington branch, and he loved spending time with his family.
He leaves his wife, three daughters and five grandchildren.
A service was held on May 5 at St Mary's Church, followed by interment in the church grounds. The Rev K Maudsley officiated.
Arrangements were made by John Burrows & Sons.
