Mr Stanley Arstall, husband of Mrs Irene Arstall, died of a chest infection on May 1. He was 88.
Mr Arstall, of Orchard Avenue, Lymm, was born in Grappenhall and had lived in Lymm for 48 years.
He was last employed at Richmond's Gas Stoves Company (TI New World), for 51 years, from where he retired. During the Second World War he was posted as a gunner in India, where he was seriously ill with septicaemia, but he recovered and returned to work.
He was a keen gardener, liked sightseeing around the country, and loved spending time with his family.
He leaves his wife, a son, a daughter, four granddaughters, two great-granddaughters, three great-grandsons and a sister.
A service was held on May 7 at Dunham Massey, followed by cremation. The Rev Father Michael of Oughtrington Parish Church officiated.
Arrangements were made by J Burrows & Sons.
