Mr Kevin McNamara, husband of Mrs Anne McNamara, died on March 6, aged 62.

Mr McNamara, of Blandford Road, was born in Whitecross and had lived in the Great Sankey area for 36 years.

He started work in retail in gent's outfitters for several years, then was employed in the accounts department of Monks Hall and Rubery Owen for 18 years, and worked at the US Army camp at Burtonwood for seven years.

Mr McNamara was a lifelong supporter of Warrington rugby league club, and as a young man had won trophies playing table tennis and skittles for Rubery Owen, and played cricket for Laporte Industries and Fiddler's Ferry Power Station.

He loved listening to music, particularly big band and Frank Sinatra, model-making, and up to recent years he had enjoyed dancing.

Mr McNamara liked overseas and UK travel and spending time with his friends and family. He had received recognition from the Blood Service for his contribution as a blood donor over many years.

Mr McNamara leaves his wife, a son, a daughter, a grandson, a granddaughter and a brother.

A service was held on March 16 at Sacred Heart RC Church, followed by cremation at Walton Lea. The Rev Father Joseph Bibby officiated.
