AFTER two years of touring on the back of their Mercury Prize nominated debut album, Sunshine Hit Me, The Bees are back with a new album.

They have recorded a set of new tracks at the legendary Abbey Road studios and their album, Free the Bees, will be buzzing into shops this month.

But for those who can't bear to wait until June 28, there is still a chance to get tickets for their gig at the Carling Academy in Liverpool tonight, Thursday.

According to the band's press people, Sunshine Hit Me was the work of two shed-bound mates, Paul Butler and Aaron Fletcher, who worked on the record on simple analogue equipment.

But Free the Bees sees the band in their new expanded form, with a bolstered line-up, ready to take the music on the road.

Fans can decide tonight if the new songs have been worth the wait.

Tickets cost £8. Call the Box Office on 0870 771 2000 or 0905 020 3999 for more information.
