NEWTON women's hockey side have been giving a good account of themselves in a summer tournament at Belle Vue Stadium.
They have won five of their eight matches so far in the seven-a-side event.
Their most impressive performance was probably their 5-1 win against GM Phoenix.
The goal scorers for Newton were Meaghan Carroll, two, Mel Heaps and Kelly Sherlock.
Carroll also scored in a 1-0 victory over Dukinfield and a 2-1 win against Reddish.
The other goal scorer against Reddish was Ann Kelly and Newton's most recent match was a 2-1 defeat to Acton.
