A FRODSHAM bowling club has been doing its bit for charity.
Castle Park Bowling Club has been running weekend bowling competitions every week since 2001 and they have proved to be very popular.
By putting enjoyment above money and organising the competitions so that anyone could win, small surplus amounts became available and everyone agreed that these small amounts should benefit local charities.
The club started running competitions specifically for charity and these 'small' amounts have since grown.
In the past three years the club has donated £1,649 to the hospice and £502 to other charities, which the club is very proud of.
Lisa Stokes, fundraising assistant at the hospice, said: "We are all thrilled at the hospice, and that the members of Castle Park Bowling Club continue with their fundraising efforts for Halton Haven.
"Each year they pop along to visit us with a cheque, and each year it seems they raise more and more money."
