A BODY found in a country lane close to Hale Village, Widnes, last Monday morning has been identified as Leon Colin Small from Liverpool.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the 21-year-old's body was found in Oglet Lane, Speke, close to the Mersey shoreline.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. A post mortem revealed Mr Small had been shot and burned and murder squad detectives think his body was dumped in Oglet Lane the night before.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police, said: "We are appealing for anyone with information, particularly in relation to Leon's last movements or who saw him in the time leading up to his death to come forward."
