I SEE from the blue police signs appealing for witnesses to an accident that the busway has claimed yet another life at one of its hazardous junctions.
One way to make them safer would be to remove the 8ft high hedges from either side of the busway for a distance of 100 metres back from each junction.
If you are approaching the busway and you can actually see a bus is coming, you are more likely to stop or slow down regardless of what colour the traffic lights are showing. I personally stop on the junction and look both ways before crossing whether the lights are green or not, it's the only safe thing to do at the moment.
