I AM disgusted in reading about the possible closure of the switchboard within Halton's hospital and I am beginning to wonder if they are slowly closing down the hospital completely - but doing it on a stage by stage bias so that we, who live near the hospital, will not be able to complain until it is too late.

I am fed up of there being no suitable A&E at Halton, with everything being pushed off to Warrington.

Even going in for check up on my eyes, which due to my condition is a serious thing since I could have my retina detached at anytime and being told that they can't check the eyes properly there and to go to either Widnes or Warrington.

To be honest I think it's about time that Halton Hospital did get some things back to it so that any serious accidents can be treated in a timely fashion.

It's all very well in cost cutting and moving stuff to another town, but what happens if there was something serious and, God forbid that anything does go horribly wrong here in Runcorn, that would need quick and nearby facilities to cope?

It's about time the people who live within Runcorn start to protest about the lack of facilities in our hospital and to stop things being moved to other hospitals within Cheshire.
