Widnes RUFC U14s 17
Waterloo U14s 5
WIDNES came from behind to overcome Waterloo in the second phase of the new Enterprise Finance Europe junior challenge.
Despite conceding an early try by the visitors' powerful number eight, the home side gradually settled and showed real character to dominate the game for long periods.
Once the forwards began to dominate at the breakdown, the backs took control of possession and provided a platform for the victory.
The visitors were never allowed to settle in the second period and were restricted to defending within their 22 for long periods.
Mullarkey brought the sides level with his first try of the season before Doolan and McLindon crashed over to ensure victory.
