West Bank Reds U9s 40

Clock Face U9s 28

AN outstanding display saw the Reds race into the lead with tries from Brad Davies (4), David Winders (3), Matty Murphy (2) and Kyle Johnson.

The opposition slowly crept back onto the score sheet with the home side eventually winning 10 tries to seven.

Brad Davies took the man of the match award, Richard Myler the top tackler award while Tom Whittley, making his debut for the Reds, took the coach's award.

West Bank Bears Open Age 31 Langworthy 18

WEST Bank beat Langworthy despite falling well short of their recent high standard.

They started brightly following a maiden score from Nigel Flinn converted by Ian Littler before allowing the Reds back into the game.

However the Bears seemed to settle down with both Adam Mercer and Littler following up their own kicks to touch down.

Langworthy registered a four pointer before Flinn settled nerves just before half time with his second try. After the break Langworthy's enterprising play was rewarded again before Gavin Dicks scored a deserved try following a rare Bank flowing move.

Littler followed up immediately with a well-taken drop goal.

Langworthy capitalized on a long break, but Ian Connor made the game safe for the Bank late on.

Chris Nuttie was awarded the opposition's Direct Skips & Recycling Ltd man of the match award but was pushed close by Connor and Bryn Pinnington, while Brian Mellor, Phil Dean and Gary Hughes had strong games.

West Bank Bears Blacks U9s

Blackbrook U'9s

THE Bears were well beaten by Blackbrook.

The opening minutes saw Blackbrook storm over for a try but the Bears hit back immediately with a superb 40 yard try from Daniel Rose.

This was to be the end of West Bank's scoring but it wasn't the end of some brave defence from the likes of Mike Kelly, Jack Jopson and Paddy Douglas.

The Bears constantly probed for more scores, moving the ball well through Tom Dempsey, Sam Walker, Jack Phillips and George Nuttall.

Debutant Daniel Jones was outstanding.

West Bank Bears U14s 26
