Halton Farnworth Hornets U11s 54

New Spring Lions U11s 20

THE Hornets kept their 100 per cent record intact with a convincing win at Wilmere Lane scoring 10 tries without reply.

Dean Ainsworth took the man of the match award for an excellent defensive display and some lively running.

George McDonnell opened the scoring after good hands down the line.

New Springs hit back to test the Hornets defence, which held firm after constant pressure and then after a handover it was Jack Buck (coach's award) who went the full length before handing on to Jack Owens to finish.

Tough tackling from the Hornets forced an error and Lewis Whitty powered over from 40 metres before George McDonnell added his second and Buck dummied his way through to complete the first half action.

The rout continued in the second period with George McGrogan grabbing a try, Alex Clare crossed after good runs from Luke Jones, McGrogan and Ainsworth and scrum half Lewis Hulme showed good awareness to register a touchdown.

Mark Percival then got on the score sheet after getting on the end of a good burst and pass from Ainsworth with Alex Clare romping home for his second to end the scoring.
