Road safety event Mega Drive warned 300 Halton 15 and 16-year-olds of the dangers of driving.

"Students will not only find out about the practical elements of driving, they will also learn more about alcohol and drugs," said Cllr Rob Polhill, board member for transport.

Police, firefighters, driving schools, driving standards agency, and the council teamed up reduce road accidents. Sgt Yvonne Williams of Halton's traffic unit, said: "This scheme gets to teenagers before they start to drive and points out the dangers."
