HEARTLESS thieves have stolen six signs publicising a charity event, which is taking place in Gorstage to raise money for a hospice.

Fundraisers at St Luke's Hospice in Winsford have appealed for those responsible for stealing the boards, worth £60, to return them immediately.

The reusable signs were displaying the hospice's next event, an exclusive shopping day at the Oaklands Hotel on Sunday, November 7.

They were being displayed during an event at The Wild Boar, in Beeston, last week but were stolen before anyone from St Luke's had a chance to take them down.

Joanne Horne, a fundraiser at St Luke's Hospice, said: "I don't know why people take them. It's obvious they were for a charity.

"It is a bit heartless considering we had only had them up for a week before.

"They might not seem to be worth a lot of money but we only make £800 on the day so the money for the boards has to come out of that."

The boards have lettering, which can be peeled off and reused for other events.

The shopping day, which takes place on Sunday, November 7 from 11am to 5pm, includes clothing, jewellery, food and design led gifts.

It is the opportunity to start or complete Christmas shopping while supporting St Luke's.
