VICTORIA Park in Widnes will remain open for longer for the second year running thanks to funding from Halton Council and the Halton Strategic Partnership.
This additional funding will secure lighting for the park and means that the skate park, multi-use area and basketball court will remain open in the early evenings.
Lights will illuminate the multi-use area until 8pm and the footpath until 8.30pm.
Only the gates near the Appleton pub and Birchfield Road will remain open after dusk and these will be locked at 8.30pm. A security guard will be present and there will be access to an emergency telephone in the pavilions and the municipal toilets will be open.
