VICE president Diana Jones welcomed members and one new member to the October meeting.
After singing Jerusalem the minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Guest speaker was Lyn Blackburn, a farmer's wife who gave a lively and humorous talk on preserves.
She showed members how easy it was to pickle fruit, like spiced oranges and tipsy apricots. She also provided some of her homemade damson gin.
The aromas from the cooking spices wafting round the room made everyone feel hungry, but afterwards members were allowed to taste all the finished products.
The annual meeting will be held next month.
Visitors and new members are always welcome to the meetings, which are held in Comberbach Village Hall on the first Monday of each month.
