THE meeting began with everyone pausing for a few moments to remember past member Kathleen Percival, who died recently at her home in South Wales.

Final arrangements were made for the fashion show to be held at the Edinburgh Wool Shop, and the visit to Welltrough Flowers.

Schedules for the craft show, which will take place on March 5, were handed out so that entries can be prepared over the winter months.

Member Maggie Pinfold had recently held a Macmillan coffee morning with the help of three member friends. They managed to raise almost £300 and thanks were expressed to everyone who had supported the event.

Speaker for the evening was Bob Kitchen, a Lancashire organic cheese-making comedian, who had members in fits of laughter while at the same time preparing a small cheese from milk to the ready-to-press stage. Bernadette O'Donnell thanked him for a very entertaining evening, which ended with everyone tasting some of the products. The competition for a cheese dish was won by Agness Gordon, with Ann Antrobus second and Elsie Evans third.

Winners of the 100 Club for October were Margaret Davies and Kath Hewett.

The annual meeting will be held next month, concluding with a finger buffet and a beetle drive.
