A LYMM woman who has dedicated the past 33 years to working with children received a special invitation from the Prime Minister to celebrate childcare services.

Early years teacher 55-year-old Margaret King, was invited to 10 Downing Street for a special reception with Tony and Cherie Blair in September.

Margaret said: "I was overwhelmed with the invitation and determined to make the most of it, especially when I realised that I was the only person from Warrington attending."

In 2002, Margaret set up an initiative to bring together private sector nursery managers and local authorities to provide neighbourhood nurseries, and in 2004 the Lakes Day Nursery opened its doors in Sandy Lane, Orford.

On the day, Margaret managed to speak to Margaret Hodge, Minister for Children.

Margaret said: "I promised everyone that I would try to speak to Tony or Cherie Blair, and I'm thrilled that I spoke to Margaret Hodge and Cherie Blair who told me how much she likes Warrington."
